About me…

My name is Julie. Yeah, you probably already knew that though. You’ve come to visit me… come to see what more you can learn about me, huh? I am an amazing person. Really, I am. And no, I’m not usually this full of myself. I just can be… because this blog is all about me. My weight loss. My interests. My hobbies. My friends. My family. My faith. Really, everything that makes up me.

To start at the beginning, I was born on October 1. I *LOVE* to celebrate my birthday. It’s so much fun – whether it’s a group of friends or with my family – I just enjoy celebrating. Actually come to think of it, I like celebrating everyone’s birthday.

I’m one of those people that likes to plan. I typically have my calendar with me at all times. If an event or appointment isn’t in there, I’m lost. I like to know what’s going to happen so you can guess that I don’t like surprises. However (*hint, hint, hint*) I would be honored if I were ever the subject of a surprise celebration.

As far as astrological signs are concerned… I am your classic Libra. No doubt about it. (I do want to put the disclaimer that I don’t follow/believe in the horoscopes or signs, but it’s intriguing none the less.)

Growing up in a staight-laced conservative world didn’t do much to expand my worldview until leaving for Hope College. There I learned that there are so many other viewpoints on what can happen in life. Going to Hope was one of the best decisions of my life — and had I stayed there, I know I would be on a different path than what I am now. But God has a plan for everything…

I am a very creative person. I don’t know why I don’t do something creative for work… I just don’t — right now. I love design, really any form of design. Interior design, artwork, print design even to the design on billboards on the highways. Part of the creativity in me is writing, not only on this blog… but short stories, fiction and (hopefully soon) my personal weight loss story.

There are other random things that you will learn about me on this journey through my blog. I hope you enjoy the journey!
