The one where I dream again…

The other night I had some dreams (again). So I wrote down what I remembered (as I said I would for the 1001 in 101 list) – and am praying that God will show me more about these dreams in the coming days. It’s kind of crazy asking for dreams, but it almost feels like this is a way that He is talking to me.

Of course, I can’t know that for sure… but I like to take comfort in it.

So as I am waking up on Sunday morning, I’m filled with this avid dream – one that has me worked up inside – I can feel it running through me. Then just before the alarm went off… I had another.

Dream #1

I am watching a young child locked in a car with the car alarm going off.

Now I wish I had written down more of this one… because I’m pretty sure there were a lot more details in the dream, but the 3 points in the dream suggest something very powerful to me – at least from what I’ve read on a couple of dream analysis websites. (I am simply taking what they are saying as “food for thought” in these cases… but mixed with what I know to be true in my life, this seems pretty powerful to me.)

Here’s the analysis for #1…

To see a parked car in your dream, suggests that you need to turn your efforts and energies elsewhere. You may be needlessly spending your energy in a fruitless endeavor.

To hear or pull an alarm in your dream, suggests that you are experiencing a conflict in a relationship or situation which is giving your much anxiety. You may be questioning the decisions you have made.

To see children in your dream, signify an aspect of yourself and your childlike qualities. You may be retreating back to a childlike state and longing for the past. You are trying to still satisfy repressed desires and unfulfilled hopes. Perhaps there is something that you need to see grow and nurture. Take some time off and cater to the inner child within.

Dream #2

Me standing behind a pole hiding in a meeting because I have facial hair.

Analysis for #2…

To dream that you are hiding, suggests that you are keeping some secret or withholding some information. You may not be facing up to a situation or dealing with some issue. However, you may be getting ready to reveal something and confess before somebody finds out.

To dream that you are in a meeting, suggests that you need to redirect your energies toward a more productive endeavor. Alternatively, the dream means that you are learning to accept various aspects of yourself and integrating them into your personality.

To dream that your face is flawed or pimply, symbolizes erupting emotions. You may be suffering an attack on your persona or your reputation.

So here I am left thinking about the situations that I am in… and who I am. The things I need to develop and things I need to turn my efforts and energies away from. All of these thing range from recent experiences to long held desires of things I really need to accomplish.

And now I am seeing through this – as well as a number of other experiences recently – that God is developing me for something new.

Do you see it too?

You don’t know how happy that makes me. I’ve been in sort of a blogging “rut” as of recently (you may have noticed in August with the serious LACK of posts)… but I committed myself to do more writing on my blog recently – which means that I’m giving up “Post It Note Tuesday” and “Five Things w/ Mama M on Fridays” – and instead focusing more on writing with the prompts from Mama Kat on Thursdays.

Something to really push me in my writing.

So hopefully this will lead to bigger and better things for me. I’m praying that the doors will open soon.

I get my prompts from a number of places… here’s some ideas for you.

      1) Google “Writing Prompts” (I have gotten a number of ideas not only for the blog from that, but also for my personal writing.)

      2) Mama Kat’s Writing Workshop

      3) Advice from Kristy Campbell – read Huffington Post, Drudge Report and other major papers for ideas.

      4) Barnes and Noble: I just have to go browse there for about 15 minutes and find a couple of ideas each time.

      Hope that helps!

You should check out “Red Writing Hood” http://thereddressclub.blogspot.com/2010/09/red-writing-hood_06.html at the Red Dress Club, and Saturday Centus http://jennymatlock.blogspot.com/2010/09/saturday-centus-week-18.html with Jenny Matlock. Both have been excellent for me when it comes to focusing more on writing!

Oooo! I love Mama Kat’s writing prompts. I keep them in my inbox for a day when my mind runs blank. Lately my problem is more time than ideas.

It’s really easy to slide into a rut though. For me, when life gets a little too personal for the blog world, I tend to back away. I’m slowly learning that the best thing for me to do is write anyway, even though it’s *really* hard. Your ideas would be great for inspiration though. Thanks!

Thanks for the link about dream analysis too. I’ve definitely been having some oddballs lately.

not sure what the dreams mean, but I hope God leads you in the right direction.

and you know what’s funny… this morning, i read Daniel chapter 2… where Nebuchadnezzar had a dream and asked all the astrologers to interpret it for him and none could… except Daniel.

Wow! I also have terrifically vivid dreams that leave me wondering. They typically involve people that are most on my mind and take place in a variety of settings. Maybe I should begin writing mine down and then researching them. It might prove interesting!
