#31DBBB: 10 reasons I should say no…

by Julie on 07.22.2010

There are some things that have come up recently in my life that have caused me to really look inside myself… to really consider my priorities. One of them is whether I should join Match.com again and try the online dating thing. Another is spending time with friends camping this weekend. These are things that I could say no to, but because I *never*say no to things {after all, I don’t want to miss out on opportunities in life!} I’ll probably say yes, and become even busier!

But here are some reasons that I’ve brainstormed up on why maybe {just maybe} I should say “no” to things once in a while.

10… I have a puzzle on my dining room table that I started a month ago for my 101 Things to do in 1001 Days that is still unfinished.

9… I haven’t done dishes in 2 weeks, and I haven’t vacuumed in a *REALLY* well in a loooooong time. (I should really get on that…)

8… I have an idea on “sponsoring” myself (and another person) to go to the Relevant Conference this October… but I need to make {lots of} my greeting cards befor I can start promoting it. :)

{By the way… if you are interested in buying packs of greeting cards for various occations (15 for $20, incl postage within US or Canada) – let me know!!}

7… On Monday I am starting the Jillian Michael’s “30 Day Shred” with my friends in the Belle, Bean and Chicago Dog Blog Frog community. I’ve had the DVD for a while, but have never honestly done the program for the full 30 days.

6… In addition to going to the Bloggy Boot Camp San Francisco in August, I’ve just signed up to go to Philadelphia in September as well. (SO EXCITED TO MEET EVERYONE!)

5… There is a guest post that I am in the midst of writing for Tammy that will be posted on Monday.

4… I have committed to start writing about faith a couple of times per month for the Hope for Women blog.

3… The 31 Days to Build a Better Blog (#31DBBB) challenge started with my friends from SITS BlogFrog… which I’ve totally enjoyed, but as you all can tell – I’m already 2 days behind with today’s post. :) {Maybe I can catch up with Day 3 by promoting this on various sites too! Ha!)

2… I am working my way through reading the Bible in 90 days (#B90days) with more than 400 bloggers. While I am currently behind, I have been truly blessed with the readings I’ve done so far.

1… Oh yeah, I probably should try to keep my day job since it’s paying the real bills. :)

So when I become so overwhelmed with all of this… just remind me that I need to sleep too. :)

Oh #B90Days sounds like such a great idea — daunting — but a great idea! I did 31DBBB when it first came along and I got behind but doing the stuff each day helped a lot!

LOVE it, glad I am not the only one behind. I was so desperate for a list topic I had to dump out my purse! ;-) http://bit.ly/bY0LPy
AND I just got my ticket for Bloggy Boot Camp in Philadelphia a few days ago, hope I’ll get to meet you face to face!

@Amy – I’m hope we’ll meet too! Can’t wait to go!!

@Jennifer – I do really need to learn to say no. But I fear if I don’t try the Match.com thing again, I will miss out on finding “Prince Charming” or really good blog material. :)

I read something somewhere today about being able to say no. It is hard, but it is worth it.

Match.com will TOTALLY give you good blog material… and if you are choosy enough… it could bring you someone great. Don’t totally dis-credit it… it’s how I found my love :) I would LOVE to help you do your profile!!! (Sunday night get-together????)

Girl I feel your pain. Good to know that you’ve recognized that sometimes saying no will keep you sane and happier.

Isn’t it AMAZING how much we commit ourselves to? I wish I had known about the 30 Day Shred! I would have jumped on that with you guys! I guess I technically still could, I just need to get the DVD. I promised myself that I would workout at least 3 days this week and so far I have worked out NONE! UGH!!!

As I mentioned earlier, I am abandoning #B90Days. There is NO way I can catch up now. :O(
